Previous #1 most anticipated movies: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (2012), THE COUNSELOR (2013), THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL (2014), STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (2015), MIDNIGHT SPECIAL (2016)
I was on a bit of a roll for 2014 and 2015, since those two movies ended up being my favorite movies of the year. I wasn't quite as accurate for 2016 but still had a bunch of movies I ended up loving on my list. On the other hand, I think this is the first time that a movie from this list was released and I didn't see it and have no intention of seeing it, which happened twice this year! These lists are tough because you can't be aware of everything on the horizon for the year, but I still enjoy doing these so here goes nothin':

- GOLD (Stephen Gaghan) - Didn't even see this, really bad reviews
- PATERSON (Jim Jarmusch) - Will see this soon
- WAR MACHINE (David Michod) - Will be released in 2017
- THE LOBSTER (Yorgos Lanthimos) - A
